The UAE Cabinet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, approved significant national strategies during its meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.
A key highlight was the approval of the National Cybersecurity Strategy, which focuses on creating a secure digital environment. The strategy is built on five pillars: governance, protection, innovation, capacity-building, and partnerships. It aims to strengthen cybersecurity measures, safeguard national assets, and support the UAE’s digital progress.
Innovation was another major focus, with the Cabinet launching the UAE Government Innovation Month, marking 10 years since the establishment of the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation. The initiative underscores the UAE’s commitment to enhancing government efficiency and business growth through innovative practices.
The Cabinet also greenlit the UAE Strategy for Talent Attraction and Retention 2031. This initiative aims to draw global talent in sectors like technology, healthcare, logistics, and creative industries, reinforcing the UAE’s reputation as a hub for expertise and innovation.
Additional approvals included the API-First Policy to enhance technology integration, the National Geospatial Data Policy to regulate geospatial information, and updates on the UAE Circular Economy Agenda 2031. Other topics reviewed included youth development, desertification combating efforts, and progress in appointing Chief AI Officers in federal entities.
The Cabinet ratified 33 international agreements, including tax and investment treaties with Qatar, Kuwait, Australia, and Jordan. It also approved hosting several global events, such as the United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and the First International Camel Forum 2025.
These decisions reflect the UAE’s commitment to advancing its infrastructure, fostering innovation, and positioning itself as a global leader in various sectors.
