Abu Dhabi Police are focusing on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to counter constantly evolving cybersecurity risks. During a seminar titled *Are Government Security Institutions Prepared for the Revolution of Artificial Intelligence and Accelerated Innovation Amid Cybersecurity and Global Sustainability Strategies?*, experts gathered to discuss how AI can enhance security systems and strategies.

The event, held at the Saif Bin Zayed Academy for Police and Security Sciences, brought together local and international specialists. According to Gulf News, Major General Thani Butti Al Shamsi, the Academy’s Director, praised the seminar’s outcomes, emphasizing the importance of adopting cutting-edge AI technologies to strengthen security frameworks. He also highlighted the value of learning from advanced global experiences to foster innovation and proactive measures.
Colonel Dr Engineer Ali Ghanem Al Touail underlined that incorporating AI is essential for addressing modern threats. He noted that automation, digital transformation, and advanced data analytics can empower police and security forces to respond with greater agility.
Professor Peter Kawalek from Loughborough University in the UK stressed the need for police institutions to build stronger partnerships at all levels to manage AI demands effectively. He added that enhancing communication systems and creating collaborative frameworks are key to bridging current and future gaps in AI deployment.
Dr Mohamed Ali Al Bakri, a cybersecurity expert from Sanford University, UK, called for prioritizing predictive analytics and machine-learning models to detect and prevent threats. He advocated for the implementation of real-time threat detection systems and automation to identify unusual patterns, ensuring proactive responses to emerging risks.
The seminar underscored the growing importance of AI in enabling safer communities and preparing government institutions for future challenges.
