UAE and Morocco Strengthen Parliamentary Ties During Official Visit

On January 28, 2025, Saqr Ghobash, the Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) of the United Arab Emirates, met with Mohamed Ould Errachid, the President of Morocco’s House of Councillors, at the FNC headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The Moroccan official was accompanied by a parliamentary delegation as part of an official visit to the UAE aimed at enhancing bilateral relations.

During their meeting, both Ghobash and Ould Errachid explored various opportunities to boost parliamentary cooperation between their respective councils. They emphasized the significance of collaboration in tackling shared challenges and advancing mutual interests, with several members of the FNC also present to engage in the discussions.

Ghobash underscored that the cooperation between the two councils is vital for strengthening the multifaceted aspects of bilateral relations. He pointed out the impactful role of parliamentary diplomacy in addressing common concerns, reinforcing that it complements the official diplomatic efforts of both nations.

The two leaders expressed their commitment to further enhancing cooperation and coordination between their councils, particularly in regional and international parliamentary events. They also agreed to continue their collaborative efforts within parliamentary platforms at the African, Latin American, and Caribbean levels.

Ould Errachid acknowledged the strong fraternal ties between the UAE and the Kingdom of Morocco. He praised the ongoing evolution of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, which continues to yield benefits for both nations and their citizens.
