According to ARN News, the city has surpassed over 47 other cities globally, securing a perfect 100% satisfaction rating in the cleanliness metric within the environmental pillar. This accomplishment is attributed to the collaborative efforts of Dubai Municipality, along with various government and private sector partners, who have implemented integrated waste management strategies and initiatives.

Central to Dubai’s commitment is the Dubai Integrated Waste Management Strategy 2041, which aims to achieve an 18% reduction in waste and complete diversion from landfills by the year 2041. Marwan bin Ghalita, the Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality, highlighted the significance of the city’s leadership and vision in achieving this global recognition, noting the teamwork and dedication required to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness.

In addition to maintaining road cleanliness, these programs manage markets, waste storage facilities, hazardous and medical waste treatment, and community e-services such as household furniture disposal. The municipality also oversees the removal of abandoned vehicles and equipment and utilizes electronic systems to monitor private sector vehicles involved in waste collection and transportation.
