The initiative is part of DEWA’s broader framework to improve customer satisfaction and maintain its leadership in government innovation. Al Tayer highlighted that the strategy aligns with the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 and reflects the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to embrace cutting-edge global technologies.

“DEWA is committed to adopting innovative digital solutions to enhance the UAE’s competitiveness and open doors for sustainable growth in the energy and water sectors,” Al Tayer stated, according to the Government of Dubai Media Office.

DEWA has been using AI since 2017 and was an early adopter of Microsoft’s Copilot and ChatGPT tools. These technologies have already been integrated into DEWA’s digital services, such as its virtual assistant “Rammas.” The use of generative AI has now expanded to areas like customer eServices, information security, human resources, governance, and financial data.

The roadmap includes innovations like ‘Rammas for You’ and ‘Rammas for Work,’ designed to optimize both customer and employee experiences. DEWA also plans to utilize AI in tools like SAP systems, Power BI, and LinkedIn Learning to further enhance productivity and future insights.

This strategic move underscores DEWA’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements while continuing to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
