DEWA Launches International Subsidiary for Global Energy Projects

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has officially launched ‘DEWA International’, a new independent subsidiary that will focus on developing energy and water projects across the globe. This initiative was announced by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, highlighting Dubai’s commitment to expanding its influence in the global energy sector.

DEWA International is set to aim for both conventional and renewable energy solutions, as well as enhancing Dubai’s established water infrastructure model. The establishment of this subsidiary signifies a strategic move to leverage the successful practices and technologies pioneered in Dubai for worldwide adoption, thereby extending the reach of the emirate’s innovations in energy efficiency and resource management.

This new initiative is expected to create numerous opportunities for collaboration and investment in the energy sector, not only within the UAE but also in international markets. By exporting its expertise, DEWA aims to position Dubai as a leader in sustainable energy practices while also driving economic diversification and growth in line with the UAE’s Vision 2030 goals.
