Two major airlines from India, Air India and IndiGo, have resumed their flights to the UAE after a temporary suspension on Monday, which was put in place due to the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.

Air India had previously announced that it would halt all operations to the UAE “until further notice” following Iran’s thwarted attack on Qatar’s US airbase at Al Udeid. The airline stated it would restart most operations to and from the Middle East by Wednesday. Furthermore, Air India mentioned that flights to Europe, which were previously canceled, would be progressively reinstated, and services to the east coast of the US and Canada “will resume at the earliest opportunity.”
The airline cautioned that “some flights may experience delays or cancellations due to consequential impacts and extended re-routings/flight times,” emphasizing their commitment to minimize disruptions and restore schedule integrity. Air India also noted that it would avoid airspaces deemed unsafe and would keep passengers updated, highlighting that the safety and security of passengers, staff, and aircraft is their top priority.
IndiGo, the low-cost airline, also confirmed on Wednesday that its flights to and from Gulf countries were “operating as scheduled.” However, it warned that passengers might face longer flight times due to restricted airspace over Iran. IndiGo advised travelers to monitor their flight status closely for the latest updates. The airline operates flights from various Indian cities to destinations including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah, among others.
Dubai Airports announced that it had resumed full operations after a temporary precautionary pause but also warned passengers traveling to India that their flights could be affected by airspace restrictions. The airport advised travelers to check with their airlines for the latest updates before heading to the airport, especially those flying to India.
Additionally, Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport issued a warning about potential delays, stating, “The safety of our travellers is our foremost priority.” They advised all passengers to check with their airlines before going to the airport in light of the current events and flight disruptions.
