Dubai’s government employees will benefit from a new initiative aimed at enhancing their work-life balance during the hot summer months. The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has officially announced the return of the ‘Our Flexible Summer’ initiative, which allows public sector workers to choose between two flexible work schedules from July 1 to September 12.

Under this initiative, the workweek will continue to follow a five-day structure, but employees can select from two options. The first option, Group 1, allows them to work 8 hours from Monday to Thursday and take Fridays off completely. The second option, Group 2, permits a 7-hour workday from Monday to Thursday, followed by a 4.5-hour workday on Friday.

The department emphasized that this initiative is designed to support a better work-life balance for government employees. As the summer temperatures rise, this policy aims to provide a refreshing change for Dubai’s public sector workforce.
